Detroit Rocks!

Today was the first game of the Western Conference Finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Red Wings won this game, and it was exciting to watch...lots of fights, lots of action.

The reason this match up is so exciting is because it's two Original 6 Teams - Detroit and Chicago are two of the oldest existing teams in NHL History. Since the Blackhawks haven't been in the Playoffs since 1995, for them to be playing the defending Stanley Cup Champion Red Wings is kind of a big deal.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series. I think it will be a really great set of games.

Because this is MY blog...

I get to whine when I want to. And I'm going to whine about the fact that my left ear hurts, which in turn is making the left side of my throat hurt. My right nostril is also clogged, which is making my right ear feel all pressurized. I'm also missing a wedding reception right now because of all this nastiness, cause I'd feel crazy guilty if I got some people sick right before their honeymoon.

Oh well. Good thing I got all kinds of shows to watch, a heating pad to lay on, and some decent meds I can take. =) Hopefully I feel better in the morning....tomorrow is a new day!

The First Post

Hi, welcome to my blog. I'm probably not very good at this, but we'll see how it goes. I need a place to post random thoughts, dreams, hopes, frustrations, whatever. I used to keep journals as I was growing up, but I'm so much faster at typing that I figured a "digital journal" of sorts might be an interesting thing to do. I'll do my best to not air out all my dirty laundry here, Lord knows I have plenty. I tried the myspace blogging thing, and while that's sort of entertaining, it's still myspace. So, here goes my first attempt at blogging in the non-myspace world. Hopefully I'll post interesting articles, or reviews on stuff I like, frustrations with life, cool stuff I do, basically anything.

And so it begins.
